Eleanor’s Arabians: 2018/2019—A Very Good Year

Topping off 35 years as a respected breeding operation, Eleanor Hamilton-bred horses had their greatest show-year to date in 2018. Fifteen horses won U.S., Canadian and Youth National championships and reserves, among them, Hezas Sweet Dreams, Sheza Melody Jac and CMS Super Chick (ridden by Madison Rose). Nearly all of these awards were won in working western competition. By the end of the year, Eleanor Hamilton was tied for 2018 Leading National Champion Breeder, and her foundation stallion, Hesa Zee+/, was the 2018 Leading Overall Working Western Sire (posting twice as many winning get as his nearest competition). Hesa Zee+/ granddaughter, Nspiring For the Top+// (owned by Ingrid Bentzen), was 2018 Leading Overall Working Western Horse and Hesa Zee+/ grandson, EAF Hesa Little Whiz, was 2018 Reserve Leading Half-Arabian Working Western Horse. Eleanor Hamilton herself, was Overall Leading Working Western Owner and Leading Overall Working Western Breeder, the latter title with three times as many winners as her closest competition!

Eleanor’s horses, obviously on a roll, started 2019 off with a bang at the Scottsdale Show in February where Hesa Artfull Zee (2018 Canadian National Champion Open Reining) was ARHA Scottsdale Arabian Reining Futurity Champion Level One and Reserve Champion Level Four (ridden by Gary Ferguson). Art by Hesa was Scottsdale Reserve Champion Arabian Reining/ARHA Maturity (with Colby Powell). The two horses are full sister and brother, sired by Hesa Zee+/ and out of Eleanor’s great foundation mare, Artymusme.

Meanwhile, back at the farm, Eleanor’s Arabians’ Breeding Manager, Mark Coombs, has been busy welcoming some exceptional new foals. On March 10th, Miss Muscana (Hesa Zee+/ x RV Muscana, by Crown Musc+) gave birth to a flashy buckskin filly by Busy Winnin Chex (Nu Chex To Cash). Miss Muscana is a full sister to multi-National Top Ten Lady Muscana+ and 5-time National Champion EAF Hesa Wizard+. On April 16th, the Quarter Horse mare, Shiny Wranglers (by Roosters Wrangler, NRHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion) presented her brand new Half-Arabian Hesa Zee+/ bay colt to the world.
